How do I know if I'm forgiven:
In The Holy Bible, Romans Chapter 10 verse 9 says: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
As soon as you ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins and you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you are forgiven. You are saved from the sin that has held you down.
Now, that doesn't meant that the devil won't try to get you to sin or even to bring up in your mind the sins you've committed but when those thoughts come, you just thank Jesus that He has forgiven you for that sin.
Romans 8 verse 1 says, "There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus." So you can know that those thought are not from Him because He does not condemn you for something He has already forgiven you for.
There's a line from a song that says, "When the devil reminds you of your past, you just remind him of your future." As a born again believer in Christ Jesus you can be assured that your future will be with Him in Heaven.
How do I learn what Jesus does and doesn't approve of?
That is very easy. You can read His Words in The Holy Bible. He is very clear in what He wants. Sometimes it helps to remind yourself of the old questions: WWJD or What Would Jesus Do... in this situation.
One of the best ways to find out is to pray. You can ask Him and He will help you make right decisions.
When Jesus was on this earth as a man, He was talking with His disciples and He told them A New Command I give to you: Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. This sums up the whole of the ten commandments because if you love Him you won't want to do things that hurt His heart.
